PREBOLD, 5^th of February 2009 – At »Manager Challenge 2009« award ceremony Dr. Uros Merc, BISOL's general manager, received the prize for courageous business plan 2009. “Even the most optimistic forecasts about the PV market growth have been too conservative,” says Dr. Merc who has led BISOL into new year courageously and optimistically.

So far PV sector has noted 54 % yearly growth. According to analysts, in coming years it is supposed to be even bigger, namely from 60 to 80 %. With extremely rapid growth of PV market electrical energy has becoming cheaper every year by 8 to 9 % and more and more competitive in comparison with the conventional energy sources. Its prices are getting higher each day. According to the forecasts of prominent associations, such as Deutsche Bank, grid parity will be reached in Germany by 2012. In Slovenia this can happen even one year sooner due to higher radiation. Dr. Merc: “Three factors lead to competitiveness: mass production, higher energy efficiency and technological improvements that enable smaller material consumption with thinner solar cells.”
