Dr. Uros Merc Co-founder and CEO
Dr. Merc was born in Slovenia in June 1976. After graduation with flying colours at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Merc joined Laboratory of Semiconductor Devices and Optoelectronics where he continued his post graduate study. By taking position of Research Assistant, his mayor was in semiconductor heterostructures. Successfully defending thesis on quantum mechanics, Merc received his Ph. D. in 2005. During the study, Merc worked as hosting professor at Institute of Solid State Physics in Vienna, Austria. In 2004, Merc started his research and development on industrial scaled c-Si solar cells. A year later, in June 2006, BISOL was founded. As a co-founder, Merc took his present position of General Manager/Chief Executive Officer. His board responsibilities comprise Strategy, Investment, Business Development, Finance, Investor Relations, Public Relations, Solar Cell Purchasing, Research & Development, and Legal Affairs.
Marko Policnik CTO and COO
Marko Policnik was born in October 1976. He graduated at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. There he is also continuing his postgraduate study. His area of research is in telecommunications with emphasis on digital processing. As a young entrepreneur he already has a successful company startup on his record. Policnik joined Blues Solar in 2005 and assumed his present position with establishment of BISOL. His responsibilities are: Technology, Production, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Safety and Technical Services, Automation of Processes, Research & Development, and IT.
Dr. Gregor Cernivec R&D Manager
After finishing his Ph. D. Dr. Cernivec, who was born in October 1979, is continuing his research in BISOL as R&D Manager. Before starting at BISOL he was investigating thin film CIGS solar cells, under the guidance and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Franc Smole at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He continued his advanced scientific studies at University in Gent, Belgium. He was a fellowship holder of the Slovenian Science Foundation and Ad Futura – Development and Scholarship Fund. His responsibilities in BISOL are: new products and services planning, co-operation with research institutes at international level, new technological equipment development and support in production process improvement.
Tjasa Bajda Sales & Purchase
Born in September 1981, Tjasa Bajda graduated at Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana in 2006. Before graduating she gained valuable experience in company Gorenje Indop. In 2006 she joined Blues Solar and later BISOL where she assumed her present position. Her responsibilities are: Sales, Purchase and Project Assignments. She strives for quality and effective support for BISOL's clients and establishment of internationally well known successful export-oriented company. Bajda has also been continuing her Master’s studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.
